Carlo Slim Helu

This Mexican business magnate has seen his personal fortune jump by more than a third over the past year to reach US$ 74 billion, making him the richest man in the world for the second time in the row, according to Forbes Magazine, by passing Bill Gates as a second with a fortune of US$ 56 billion.

Carlos Slim Helu, born in Mexico City, Mexico on January 28, 1940. He is a multi-billionaire with a difference. Shunning a lavish lifestyle and has great passion for the art. He drives around in Mexico City all by himself bracing the traffic in Mexico City. Despite his fortune, the 71 years old lives in a modest six-bedroom house a mile from his office, three miles from where he was born. He also has no interest in flashy super-yachts or palatial house around the world; he is a king who loves to limit his roaming to a tiny corner of the realm.

Slim and his siblings were taught basic business practices by his father, and at the age of 12 Slim bought back shares in Mexican Bank. Now he is the chairman and CEO of telecommunications companies Telmex and American Movil and has extensive holdings in other Mexican companies through his conglomerate, Group Carso SAB, as well as business interest elsewhere in the world.
The reach of his dominion in Mexico is so large that the Wall Street Journal once quipped that “it’s hard to spend a day in Mexico and not put money in Slim’s pocket. An average Mexican will wake up on sheets bought from a Slim-owned store, buy their morning bread from a Slim-own bakery and drive to work in Slim-insured car. They will call friends on a Slim-owned mobile phone, lunch at Slim-owned restaurant and smoke Slim-owned cigarette. It is a little wonder that Mexico is referred to as “Slimlandia”

When Faith Bring You to New Height

From broke, homeless cocktail waitress with only $2.03 to her name, Dani Johnson began her career in the Network Marketing industry. She made more than $250,000 her first year, and more than $1,000,000 her second year, becoming the #1 international producer in her company. Since not too many people have the privilege to say that they built a highly profitable organization in the first year, many became intrigued as to how she managed this phenomenal success. Due to that she has founded Call To Freedom International, and travels around the world teaching people of her principles of success.

Her one TOP secret that definitely help her to achieve such breathtaking result in life and business is the concept of FAITH. It is understandable tough, for someone who was once on welfare, homeless, and struggling to support herself, become successful without faith was of course impossible. “I grew up in a violently abusive and dug infested home where I was physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually abused,” she tells WABC. When she was 21, she was homeless, but she started her own business out of the trunk of her car, selling a weight-loss product. Soon she’d turned the gig into a veritable empire — she’s now a beauty and nutrition expert with several self-help books to her name. Now she is a millionaire.

Vista Print

A large online supplier of printed and promotional material, Vista Print was founded in Paris, France in 1995 by current President and CEO Robert Keane. He developed the plan while he was still in INSEAD Business School and immediately realizing it after he graduated. He is interested in closing what he perceived as a gap in the printing industry’s market with regard to the micro or small business, because the traditional print shops typically generated orders only in the thousands, something many small businesses could not afford.

Using advanced technology to group similar orders in large groups, Vistaprint produces large numbers of orders in short runs. This allows for consumers to get quantities in low volumes, as low as ten for example, rather than thousands. Using the Internet as a medium, graphic design is offered through online design studios. Anyone can then design a product and order it through the site. These processes and manufacturing methods have been incorporated across the company’s vast product line.

Based in Venlo, the Netherlands, Vistaprint employs over 2,700 employees globally in its offices and printing facilities. The company’s U.S. offices are in Lexington, Massachusetts, while its European offices are in Barcelona, Spain. Its three printing facilities, which total almost 800,000 square feet (74,000 m2) of production space, are in Deer Park, Australia, Windsor, Ontario and Venlo, the Netherlands. Vistaprint uses patented technology to aggregate and print large numbers of customized orders in its automated production facilities in North America and Europe. This technology enables Vistaprint to process an average of 71,000 orders daily. Thus, it’s not really surprising if in the 26th annual GAM 101 listing, the company is the 40th largest (by revenue) and the 4th fastest growing printing company in North America. It is also the 6th largest public printing company (by market cap).
